Start here if you are new
Read “What is paper trading?” to understand what virtual orders do and do not represent. Next, compare market, limit and stop orders. Before placing your first practice order, write down the contract, quantity and exit plan. Read the paper-versus-real guide before interpreting simulated P&L as evidence about real outcomes.
Learn with a record of your decisions
Keep a journal that captures the plan before the result. Review whether you chose the intended contract, placed the intended order and followed the planned exit. Use the risk/reward calculator to check arithmetic, not to decide whether a trade should be taken. A ratio cannot supply a probability of success.
Then specialise by segment
NIFTY, BANK NIFTY, SENSEX and MCX require different contract checks. The segment guides explain which details to verify rather than giving current buy or sell calls. You can keep one login while maintaining separate journal tags for each market. Catalogue support and usable data still determine what can be practised.
How to read these guides
Fictional prices are labelled as examples. Official exchange links identify where to check specifications; they do not imply an exchange endorsement. The editorial policy explains our sourcing and correction approach. The pages show a content date, but current contract details should always be checked at the source.
